9/20/2007:  Tournament added to fall schedule

We have decided to add the Oktober Fest Tournament at Sports at the Beach the weekend of October 20th and 21stto the fall tournament schedule.  We decided it would be good to get in a forth tournament in before winter.  We are now scheduled to play a minimum of 24 games this fall.  What a great opportunity for the team to gel before going to work this winter.

9/9/2007: Roadrunners announce new players for 14U season

We are pleased to announce 3 new and talented players for the 2008 season.

#5 Trey Tyndall - Trey comes to the Roadrunners after playing 5 seasons with the Delaware Storm.  The Storm was a successful travel team from the Sussex County area.  Trey was a staple in centerfield for the Storm and we are excited by the experience he brings to the Roadrunner outfield.  Trey will also see time pitching and as a middle infielder.

#4 Chris Conaway - Chris is another player that joins us with 5 years of travel ball experience.  The last 4 of those years as a member of the Delaware Storm.  Chris has a lot of experience as an infielder and last season excelled in his first year as catcher.  We expect him to provide depth these positions and work as a pitcher

#16 Brad Walker - This will be Brad's first season playing travel baseball.  Brad is big kid with a live arm and a lot of catching experience.  We look forward to developing Brad into a player that provides a power bat in the middle of the order.  We also see Brad developing in to the "closer" of the pitching staff.

1/29/2006: Email update from Coach Ed

Just wanted to thank everyone for coming to the meeting on Friday. I think that was the shortest one we have ever had. A reminder that I will be putting in our apparel order on Friday and money will be due at that time. Please bring copy of players report cards to practice on Tuesday. We will be at the Coop at 6pm. I hope the pullovers fit all the players, you can let me know if there were any size issues. ( I can’t do anything about it but you can let me know!)

1/26/2006:  Myrtle Beach Team Meeting

There is a team meeting tonight to at the Trivitt's to discuss the Myrtle Beach Tournament.  This includes future fundraising and sponsorships.  I will post another update after the meeting.

1/22/2006 Email from Coach Ed

Hello everyone-

Just wanted to give some updates on things. Me and the rest of the coaching staff got back Saturday from a baseball clinic in New Jersey, a clinic that in my opinion is probably the best in the country. Each year we get the privilege of talking to and learning from the greatest college and professional coaches in the world. We do this to pass info on to our players and to keep us at the cutting edge of what is happening in baseball. Anyway, great clinic and look forward to practice on Tuesday.

Pullovers are in for players and we will hand them out at practice Tuesday. I hope everyone had a chance to look over Christine’s email for our team meeting on Friday. We want everyone to have their sponsor list ready and we will go over some other items that night (Ripken week in Myrtle Beach, financials, etc). We will also have a list for ordering apparel for this year at the meeting.

I did want to give out one other date and that is July 3-9, 2008. This is the week we will be playing an international tournament in Disney World. I met with a representative from the Wide World of Sports complex to finalize the date that we should be scheduled for next year. Obviously this is way in advance but we wanted to give out the date asap. See everyone tomorrow.
